Fine Pinot varietal character is apparent on the nose with rich cherry, gamey barnyard and subtle pencil box oak in the background. Mouth filling dark cherry fruit comes wrapped in a smoothly rounded texture with lightly firm tannins and light herbal and chocolate overtones. Restrained, classic wine with great depth.
Medium straw in colour with a high-toned, minerally, smoky nose of tropical fruits and toasty oak; medium bodied but full on the palate; nicely balanced with a fresh acidic core.
This is the kind of wine that could convert the non-wine drinker into a sensible person. Deep ruby colour, minty, blackberry nose, soft and fruit on the palate with a touch of sweetness and a lavender note. Medium-bodied. Easy drinking.
Tropical fruits, apples, minerals, tomato vine and minerals are all in the mix here. Light bodied, with a bright edge, there is medium length and a mineral after note. This wine needs food, so try it with bruschetta topped with feta cheese or herb and lemon marinated pork chops.
Here is an Aussie rendering of a Moscato d’Asti. Slightly frothy, the perfume of peaches, flowers and marmalade pulls the taster into its aura. It is sweet, with added nuances of honey and spice on the palate. Light bodied and refreshing, it is tailor made as a late evening summer sipper, or a lovely addition to homemade fruit salad. Serve it well chilled.
This perennial favourite delivers the goods, once again, in its '08 vintage. With a medium body, it is somewhat jammy, with blackberries, dark cherries, liquorice, menthol and cocoa all present. It is a very satisfying selection, ideal for grilled calf’s liver or tandoori chicken.
Lorraine is a complex lady, filling her life with plums, raspberries, herbal mint, liquorice, and coffee and they are all present on her medium-to-full-bodied frame. Tannins are present too, but they are buried under the structure. Surprisingly, the acid is fresh, making her all the more attractive, with or without a meal to accompany the occasion.
