This toasty, nutty brown ale begs to be sipped with sizzling pork and beef hot off the barbeque. The English brown ale’s clean, crisp body and easy drinkability will cleanse the palate after each rich bite, while its nutty flavours will sync up with the caramelized notes of your carefully ‘cued meats.
Like the crown on the head of a king, a proud foam collar stands atop this clear, golden ale with cascading tiny bubbles that dance up the traditional pilsner glass. On the nose, soft crackers and pizza dough malt with light floral hops. Light crackery malt and doughy baguette, with faint lemongrass and floral hop notes on the tongue. With mild bitterness, it has a soft round malty finish that dries out slightly. It’s a light-bodied lager with medium-to-high carbonation and a gentle malt character.
Cannonball is an easy-drinking lager that’s all about the crackery malt. A brilliant, medium gold, clear brew with aromas of toasted saltine crackers, a touch of floral hops and a clean yeast character. Crisp, clean and refreshing, there’s a refreshing, mild bitterness on the sip which dries out the finish nicely. A sure-fire warm weather staple for Toronto’s East Enders.
Shows light amber in the glass, with rather delicate yeasty and distinctively smoky aromas. Soft orange citrus and light malty flavours come with creamy smoothness and dry tobacco smoke on the long finish. Certainly, an unusual brew, but worth a try. Kiak, by the way, is a very rare fish, found only in the Springtime in remote parts of Southwestern Nova Scotia.
Deep reddish brown in colour with a distinctive combination of fruity malt and piquant hoppy aromas. Rounded dried fruit flavours merge with toasty malt, cutting the initial sweetness, finishing with a moderate hit of nutty dryness. Easy to drink and a good winter warmer.
Shows hazy light amber in the glass with green herbal hoppy and nutty malt aromas. Citrus and malty flavours with medium weight in the mouth finish with typical IPA bitter hop character and smoky dryness.
