Bouquet is quite developed, with interesting smokiness, red berry fruit, white pepper and background minty herbal notes. Sweet ripe red berry, rich milk chocolate and supple tannins on mid-palate transition into a long, complex succulently fruity, spicy and deftly oaked finish.
Year in, year out, this wine is one of Chile’s preeminent Carmenères. This fact, coupled with the fabulous growing conditions in 2007, has produced a black/purple coloured wine with a huge bouquet of cassis, dark cherry, tobacco, spice, smoke, earth and vanilla. The palate is full bodied, yet refined, with great amounts of ripe dark fruits and solid tannins. It will easily last for another 5 years. At this price, it is a steal, so purchase a couple of bottles for the cellar.
Its smoky nose and rich palate signal its complexity. Oozes with cassis, black fruits and chocolate that are well integrated with ripe tannins. Its chocolate-mint finish satisfies. Impressive in its perennially consistent quality given an 80,000-case-per-year production. A match for flavourful hanger steak.
The “top of the hill” proprietary name captures its vineyards’ locale. Unleashes seductive aromas of violets, black cherry and smoky pepper, followed by sweet, concentrated red fruit flavours. The combination of robust flavours, supple texture, plush tannins and full-bodied frame offers a Rubenesque wine, if you will. Super-long, spicy finish. Ready now for barbecued meats.
The high, steep 45-degree slopes ensure the grapes are sun drenched by day yet well cooled by night. Seductively fragrant aromas of violets and wild berries. Decadently rich flavours of smoky, peppery meat and dense dark berries are well balanced by bright acidity and supple tannins. The blockbuster finish unveils chocolate and vanilla notes. Heartwarming with a hearty winter stew.
Distinctively Chilean piquant herbal scent with good varietal cherry and lightly spicy, chocolaty overtones. Generously ripe mouth filling berry fruit fills the mouth, backed by firm tannins with a pinch of green herb. Chocolate and plenty of spice contrast with astringent dryness on the finish.
Dark ruby. Black fruit and ripe, earthy notes. Supple attack, the full body is felt on the palate. Densely fruity and well balanced from start to finish.
