Dark ruby. Unpleasant notes of reduction (cooked vegetables and rot) will hit you first if you don’t carafe it an hour or so. Give it time to let the dark fruit, herbs and spices (aniseed) come out of the glass. Medium- to full-bodied, balanced middle palate and finish. Soft, chewy tannins. Drink or wait 2-3 years.
