A blend of Mazuela, Garnacha, Syrah and other varietals, it is a ripe plum colour, so deep it is opaque. Rustic nose of roasted meat, sour cherries and a touch of tar. Full-bodied and beautifully balanced despite the high alcohol; rich flavours of ripe, dark berries shaped by 15 months in French oak. Not an old-fashioned Priorato, but neither is it a newfangled fruit bomb. Needs a couple more years to peak.
