3 oz Cherry gelatin powder -- or 10 Lemons --or 2 cups bottled lemon ju 7 c Water 1 c Sugar Green food coloring Recipe by: Creepy Cuisine, Lucy Munroe Prepare a bowl of gelatin dessert according to the directions on the package. Chill in the freezer for 45 minutes, or until partially set. While the gelatin cools, squeeze the juice from the lemons into a pitcher, being careful not to include any seeds. Add the 7 cups of water to the lemon juice. Stir. Add the sugar and stir again. Add green food coloring until Ghoul-ade is the desired shade. Pour Ghoul-ade into individual glasses, then spoon partially set gelatin gopher guts into glasses. Include long spoons when serving this drink to help your guests eat their guts out! 1/2 c Oatmeal (rolled oats) 1/2 c Whole wheat flour 1/8 t Salt 1/4 c Shortening 2 T Molasses 2 T Honey 1 c Water, boiling 1/2 c Water, warm 1/2 oz Yeast (dry), active -(2 packages; do not -use quick-rising yeast) 1 t Honey 1 Egg 2 1/2 c Flour, unbleached -(up to 3 1/2 C) Combine oatmeal, whole-wheat flour, salt, shortening, molasses and honey. Pour boiling water over all. Mix and let cool. While cooling, dissolve yeast in warm water with the honey. Add egg to cooled batter, then mix in dissolved yeast. Add flour until dough is just soft enough to knead. Knead lightly. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover with a damp cloth. Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk; about one hour. Punch down dough and cut into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball in put into a greased 9-inch pan. Let rise again for 45 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F. for 40 minutes. NOTES: * Holiday rolls with oatmeal and molasses -- This recipe has long been part of my Thanksgiving tradition. I have long since forgotten its source. * These rolls are really wonderful, but they need time to rise. start them as early in the day as possible. 1 package Kool-Aid -- grape 1 package Kool-Aid -- orange 2 cups Sugar 3 quarts Water 1 liter Ginger ale -- cold Use the unsweetened Kool-Aid In a large non-metal pitcher, combine envelopes of Kool-Aid with sugar and water. Stir until thoroughly mixed and Kool-Aid is dissolved. Add ginger ale and serve immediately. Makes about 8-10 servings. |
7 Or 8 ice cubes 1 cup Milk 1 large Scoop vanilla ice cream Blue food coloring -----TOOLS----- Blender Ice cream scooper Tall glass With an adult's help, grind ice cubes in blender. Add milk to crushed ice and lend on low speed for 10 seconds. Add one large scoop of ice cream and blend again for about 30 seconds. Slowly add about eight drops of food coloring to blender, mixing after every couple of drops, until smoothie is the color of your favorite fabric softner. Serves 1 downy dude. Add whipping cream and continue stirring. Pour into 8x8 pan and chill well. (You could adapt this recipe for any holiday. 1 pk Cake mix -- gold, spice or white 1/2 c California dried figs -- stemmed Soft white butter icing Make cake according to package instructions, folding in figs which have been cut into small pieces. Fill cup cake pans 2/3 full. Bake 25 minutes at 375 F. To make Spooks, turn cup cakes upside down. Place a dab of icing in the center, and set whole California dried fig upright with the stem standing erect at the top. Let stand until firm, then ice the whole thin with soft white butter icing. Let icing flow around the base of the cake to resemble a sheet. Mark off slits for eyes. Weird-looking; wonderful-tasting!
