Morellino di Scansano is a grape grown in Maremma, the coastal area of Tuscany. It is actually the local name for Sangiovese and is usually blended with Malvasia Nera and Alicante. Dense purple in colour, this wine has a cedary, cherry nose backed by oak spice. It is medium-bodied and dry, with a well-extracted cherry flavour and chewy tannins on the finish. A great match for spaghetti bolognaise.
