New Zealand Pinot Gris is a chameleon, from rich and concentrated through the spectrum to zesty and lean. This small-parcels Pinot Gris is in the former camp, a textured, spicy and ripe Gris that balances out scented baskets of orchard fruit and musk melon with a zesty, grapefruit acidity. A blanket of lees covers the bottom layer of this fuller-bodied wine, one that ends a bit bluntly with pear skin and ample toasty spice.
