The 2009 and 2010 vintages are restoring my faith in Beaujolais, which had been lackluster for too long. Jean-Paul Brun is a smaller producer with bold ideas who has established quite a following. This example shows emphatic peppery and dark cherry scents followed by a luscious mouthful of dark fruit and grippy minerality. Great mouth feel and excellent balance.
