Often a “what’s left over” blend, this more sophisticated version of Edelzwicker contains Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Pale silvery-yellow, it has an appealing grapey nose of peaches and pineapple. Medium-bodied, it tastes of pears and citrus, especially lemon. Have it with smoked trout for the Riesling, goose fat–fried potatoes for the Pinot Gris, and sweet corn-on-the-cob for the Pinot Blanc.
