Sew Together A Winner
Sartori, in Italian, means tailors. The concept of sewing pieces together follows through in this wine from a multi-generation wine family in Verona, Italy. It’s made from partially dried Garganega grapes, with some of the must being fermented in oak barrels and 100% of the wine benefiting from an extended ageing on the lees. It’s a pretty bright straw colour with a tinge of a greenish hue.
Fresh tropical fruit and buttery honey coats the palate with a slight tangerine zing. This wine is nicely fruit forward with apple and guava and some more hints of butter on the palate. It has a super clean taste yet lingering finish. It’s a very nicely structured and well balanced wine.
Food pairing: Excellent flying solo or paired with a good selection of cheese & fruit. It would also balance perfectly with a flavourful slow roasted fish (think: salmon).
