Drug of choice

Coffee. I’m a caffeine addict.

Like so many other women in my life stage, I manage a family and a career. Basically, I have two full-time jobs. I imagine that at some point, caffeine – coffee to be precise – became a necessary tool for survival but somewhere along the journey, I grew to truly love it. The smell, the taste, the feel in my mouth. In fact, on early mornings when I have had many hours less sleep than the recommended eight, it is the thought of coffee that gets me out of bed (and probably my six year old announcing that he just pee’d and he’s ready for his breakfast).

As an addict, I admit, in a pinch anything will have to do. Even the crappy brew-in-your-room stuff at a hotel. But, given the ideal circumstances, only a cup (or two, or three) of freshly french pressed brewed liquid magic can truly satisfy my palate.

If you have yet to be introduced to the world of the french press, you have been deprived. Coffee, the way it was intended is a thing of beauty. It does require time and a little patience, though. Compare it to getting to the gym; if you’re committed and make it part of your routine, the inconvenience of it melts away.

Here, CoffeeGeek explains, in great detail, How to Use a Press Pot.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
