When most people picture a Caesar, the first season to come to mind probably isn’t the holiday season. They most likely imagine a nice summer day, or evening, enjoying their cocktail and taking in the warmth of summer air. Maybe adding some flavour to their Canada Day. But why can’t a Caesar be thought of as a winter holiday drink? I believe it can! And maybe these Caesar recipes can help add some spice to your holiday season!

A Spicy Season

For those of you who prefer to really spice up the holidays, the fireworks Caesar recipe by Mott’s Clamato is what you need! This cocktail is sure to give you the spice you need to warm up your holiday season.

3 dashes hot sauce
Salt, to taste
2 grinds black pepper
1/2 jalapeño pepper, keep seeds for extra heat
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 green onions
1 oz 100% blue agave tequila
4 oz Mott’s Clamato
Garnish: celery salt, cayenne pepper, cooked spicy prawn
1 Bird’s eye chili pepper or other small pepper

In a mixing glass, muddle everything except tequila, Mott’s Clamato and garnishes. Add the tequila and Mott’s Clamato, and stir well.

Fill highball glass to the top with ice and strain the mixture into the glass, and garnish with a skewered prawn and chili pepper.
