Margarita

This refreshing cocktail is the perfect companion to a hot summers day, enjoying good conversation with friends on a patio or sitting on the beach, drink in one hand and book in the other. Making a great margarita from scratch isn’t hard – and you definitely don’t need a pre-mix to make it either. In fact, you should aim to always use fresh ingredients when you make one at home. It only needs three ingredients … and you don’t technically need a blender (unless you prefer your margarita’s slushy style).

Original Margarita

1/2 oz cointreau or triple sec
1 oz tequila (100% agave)
1/2 oz lemon or lime juice (if squeezing fresh, you’ll need about one small lemon or lime)

Mix ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a salt rimmed cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon or lime slice. Serve.

Get tropical with a Mango Margarita or go slushy with the Frozen Margarita.
