5 wines to keep you cozy when it’s cold outside
Shiraz
Most people think about Shiraz or even Zinfandel when they think winter wine. They are big, bold reds with tons of fruit, spice and flavours exude heat in the glass – even before the first sip.
Shiraz makes a great winter food pairing – the tannins cuts through the richness of stews, roasts and casseroles to give you a great dining experience. The fruit flavours are also darker, favouring plum, currant and other fruits associated with long nights and cold days.

“From the cooler Victoria comes this dark ruby/purple-coloured red. Blackberry, black cherry, plum, violets, spice, cocoa, ink, cookie dough and vanilla replay from the nose to the palate. Full-bodied with some warmth and fine length.”
