The Chilly Irishman

To cap off my alcoholic smoothie party, I decided to end with a coffee beverage. I mean, I know I needed it to keep me awake long enough to clean up… This one by Creative Culinary is a nice blend of bitter coffee and rich cream flavours.

Again, did a few small replacements – lactose-free yogurt for the ice cream. I don’t have a cold brew machine (yet), so I had to use just regular old coffee I brewed and put in the fridge overnight. (I actually contemplated making coffee ice cubes, but realized all my ice cube trays were occupied by the simple syrups).

2 cups ice
4 oz cold espresso coffee
2 oz Kahlua
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
2 cups vanilla ice cream
Cocoa nibs or shaved chocolate, for garnish

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into chilled rocks glasses and garnish with cocoa nibs or shaved chocolate.
