GitUp Git2P Panasonic Sensor

The GitUp Git2P Panasonic Sensor improves on the original features and specs while adding burst function, webcam capabilities and video stabilization. The matchbox sized camera is well built and tough. It’s minimalist design means there are less buttons to play with, all of which are on the right side of the camera. The ports for wires and etc. are also all together on one side of the camera.  This classic action camera is designed for primarily video shooting but also has the option to take photos.

The Panasonic sensor provides a different “color chemistry” than the standard Sony sensor. It has 1440P 30fps, 1080P 60fps, 720P 120fps and 720P 60fps. The resolution is perfect for sports videos or other fast-paced motion you’d like to capture on “film”. It uses a Novatek 96660 chipset, a newer version than the Novatek 96655 chipset used by the Git1. You also have the option to set the white balance, ensuring that the video is crisp and clean.

Git2P video mode has gyro stabilization, aka anti-shake, which works much the same way image stabilization works in photography. This means your videos are smooth without the sometimes nauseating hand-held camera effects. You can record in loops of 2, 3, 5 and 10 minute intervals, though it should be mentioned that the Git2 overwrites recorded video when the memory card is full (so if you’re out all recording day, keep an eye on your memory card space to ensure you don’t lose earlier videos).

There is a built-in microphone with high, medium and low as setting options. The Git2P supports an external microphone, just in case you’re hoping to get close-up audio in your video.

With this action camera, you can also take still images at 16 megapixel resolution. You have the option of shutter speeds from 1/30s to 1 minute, giving you the option to take long exposure photos or several action photos in a row. Everything you expect in a point-and-click camera is there: self timer, capture modes, burst options, sharp colour rendering.

Playback is standard – view and delete. The only downside is there isn’t any audio on the playback. The 950mAh rechargeable lithium battery lasts for up to 90 minutes of video set to the highest resolution possible. You can get more if you use lower resolutions and turn off the gyro stabilization. There are quite a few good features in this small (59 x 30 x 41mm) action camera.
