Strofilia Estate was started by 2 friends in 1984. This is the latest project in their portfolio, “Syn+”, the result of the next generation experimenting with their family’s accomplished practices. This Agiorgitiko is from mountainous vineyards in Asprokambos and Psari in Nemea. Deep clay soils, whole cluster and 2 weeks on the skins, this spent 6 months in tank before bottling. Downy plum, blackcurrant, cassis, wild cherry on the soft, generous and friendly palate, one with fine powdery, fuzzy tannins hugging the edges to a warming finish. A fine, potent line of acidity plumbs the whole. Rustic and charming; crack and chill and serve with pork. Good value.
