Ruby purplish. Black olives, smoke, ripe raspberry and earthy notes form this classic Syrah from the north Rhône Valley. Medium- to full-bodied, very dry, the spicy taste is profiled by acidity. The intense finish is firm and slightly grainy. Drink or hold.
This bright golden ale releases an enthralling floral bouquet with peach, banana and vanilla accents. Effortlessly fluffy and creamy thanks to additions of oats and wheat, its sweet centre will sing alongside prosciutto-wrapped spring asparagus.
This is as good as it gets as a dessert wine. Amber colour with an intense barley sugar, burnt orange-peel nose; concentrated sweet orange marmalade and toast flavours; surprisingly medium-bodied for its concentration of flavour; beautifully balanced with great length.
Dense purple-black in colour and still holding it for the age. Smoky, cedar-y, cassis nose; medium-bodied, mature and elegant with a tannic lift on the finish. Drink now.
A slight green hint to the colour, quite fresh with hints of lemon and mineral, and a touch of fizziness, pleasant and easy to drink. Tasted at the winery, which amplified the fact that this is a wine that is best when young and fresh and too often loses some of this liveliness by the time it makes its way to the store shelves in Canada. A blend of Trajadura, Loureiro, Arinto and Azal.
Crunchy, juicy and joyful, this is a quaffable Cabernet Franc from one of Pays Nantais' top Muscadet producers. With granitic slope-sourced grapes, this spends 5 months in stainless steel. Youthful raspberry, cool cherry are seasoned with white pepper, young cedar whiffs and herbal scrub which textures the palate. Tannins have a supple, sappy tug, but otherwise remain in the background. This is all about juicy, quaffable, delish, light-bodied, morish Franc to drink now.
From a steep, southwest facing slope high above the lake. Up front green apple and stony notes before a luscious, mouth filling palate with vibrant lime and citrus wrapped in bright acidity underpinned by a mineral streak with a lingering end.
