Apparent new oak in the form of coffee, chocolate and toast weaves its way through the damson plum, prune, dark cherry and anise. Full throttle, with a brilliant finale.
Black cherry and green herbal character pervades this sturdy, thickly textured wine, supported by firm tannic structure, forward acidity and very dry finish. Drink with robust red meats and tomato-based pastas.
Red berries and floral notes on the nose precede a light- to medium-bodied palate of well-balanced fruit and oak, wild strawberry and cranberry hints. Supported by fresh acidity with a subtle savoury note through a juicy finish.
Another smartly priced organic Chablis that over-delivers. This shows the beauty of the classic 2010 vintage with pure lemon, grapefruit and focused flinty minerality. Quite fresh and vibrant on the palate and soaked in juicy citrus goodness that makes you want one sip after another. Bring on the oysters or pair with poached salmon.
Pale straw in colour with a minerally, slightly smoky, honeyed grapefruit bouquet and a light floral note; light-bodied, off-dry, grapefruit and lime flavours with a touch of honey for balance. Long lemony finish of mouth-watering acidity.
It starts with vanilla-butterscotch-butter aromas, then citrus, apple and Asian-pear notes on the nose. It’s ripe and round on the palate with lemon zing providing an acid lift through the mid-palate. There’s a nice touch of toasted almonds through a fairly smooth finish. Great-value Sonoma Chard.
Lovely perfume, still showing lots of freshness, a firm backbone, elegant and layered with all components well integrated, fresh acidity and great length. Drinking beautifully now, but still has plenty of life. Very enjoyable.
