This is the exciting result of a bold decade-long project. Made in the manner of top Vintage Champagne with the classic encépagement. Fewer than 1,000 bottles have been produced. Refined, somewhat austere on the nose, displaying restrained fruit with mineral and bready overtones. There is good weight on the palate, simultaneously expansive and austere in the classic Champagne mode. Subtle citrus fruit character is enhanced by fine mousse, dynamic acidity and delightfully creamy texture.
Richly plum scented, with spicy and green herbal notes and bold, ripe flavours. Full-bodied, with solid structure, good overall balance, well integrated fruit, spice and a little dark chocolate on the finish. A solid example of new wave Puglia quality.
Deep ruby-plum in colour, with a spicy beetroot-and-tobacco nose; medium-bodied, elegant, richly extracted cherry flavour that fills the palate. Firmly structured.
Savoury anise, graphite and dried cassis open this Priorat, a blend of Garnacha and Cariñena. Bright blue plum, ripe cassis, anise and smoky quartz stoniness fill the generous body, one shouldered with plush tannins and moderate structure, and laced with bergamot. Acidity is fine, but enough to moderate the concentration and heat (14.5% feels hot on the finish). Drinking well now, decanted, and with herb-roasted lamb.
Very pale. Fresh nose of unripe fruits, green lemon and asparagus. Clean and lively on the palate, the cutting acidity is especially present in the finish. The domain is known for its rigorous organic winemaking.
According to Summerhill, a Canadian first, produced in very limited quantities from 100% organic Cabernet Franc. It has a gorgeous, unique nose of raspberries, cranberries, herbs and rosemary that’s lively and fresh. It’s quite delicious on the palate with a melange of savoury, earthy red fruits and herbs with good length through a vibrant and lively finish.
