The naturally fermented inaugural release from the new sub-appellation yields slightly creamy notes on the nose, with orchard fruits followed by a gently buttery palate of well-managed oak, producing buttery notes in the background with a definite stony and mineral undertone.
Expressive, aromatic varietal character shows lemon citrus, some floral lift, great mineral intensity and a faint whiff of petrol. Gorgeous citrus concentration with lovely mineral counterpoint, vibrant acidity, generous weight and an appetizingly dry finish.
This winery, located in one of the southernmost vineyards in the world, only began operating in 2000. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a lovely red with ripe black cherry, anise, campfire smoke, spice and currants on the nose. It is quite rich on the palate and a touch sweet, with plump juicy fruits, eucalypt, spice, currants and pepper.
This wine explodes with flavour. Dense purple in colour, it offers a nose of concentrated blackcurrant and cedar. Elegant and plush, its sweet black fruit and cola flavours are firmly structured.
An interesting blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc that shows a slight copper colour in the glass. It has a robust nose of apples, citrus and spice with hints of rhubarb and cherry-fruit. It’s dry and spunky on the palate with lovely texture and a complex array of fruit flavours.
Light ruby. Delicate nose of small red fruits, a bit uni-dimensional but still attractive. Light body; balance is on the acidic side. Texture is supple with a nice fruity taste, finish is barely firm. A good everyday wine for fans of Pinot Noir.
A great little Spanish quaffer that shows cassis, currants, maraschino cherry and light spices on the nose. It’s bold and ripe on the palate with red and dark fruits and surprising structure for such an affordable wine.
