A bargain at the price. Deep ruby colour; pencil lead, cedar and currants on the nose; medium- to full-bodied with red plum and red currant flavours backed by lively acidity.
Lots of verve to this Chardonnay with smoky minerals, pear, fresh apple and honey. Even though there is 14%, there is not a trace of heat whatsoever, and crystalline acidity relieves any form of heaviness.
Displays the opulent richness of Macallan’s 100% sherry cask style with plenty of sherried fruit, vanilla, caramel, spice and a trace of smokiness. Plush flavour has a touch of sweetness and creaminess, offsetting ashy dryness and lightly fiery alcohol.
Made from Castelão and Trincadeira, trodden by foot in traditional stone agars. Clear medium-deep cherry red. A powerful, complex, grapey nose leaps out of the bottle and is discernible well away from the glass, including influences of instant coffee, smoke, molasses, tea and fig. Surprisingly, the taste is of fresh mixed berries. The tannins are smooth, the acidity bright. Best now, before the fruit fades.
More octane here than in previous vintages. Aromatic; there is cream, honey, tropical fruit, sweet peach and spice. The palate shows heft, and there is a touch of residual sugar. Chill well and serve alongside Thai cuisine.
Deeply coloured, this LBV dishes out intense plum, blackberry, dark cherry, raisin, chocolate and spice. Round, mouth-filling and sweet. Excellent length and ready to drink.
This took me by surprise; such a beautiful Riesling with a nose redolent in grapefruit, green tea, citrus and a lovely vein of minerality, earth and ginger. This is an exotic and unique expression of Niagara Riesling with swirling grapefruit-citrus on the palate, marzipan, white peppery notes and vineyard-inspired ginger through a fresh and vibrant finish.
