Contains wine from vines that are 30 years old. Huge peach and banana on the nose followed by spice and cream on the palate. Good lift and fine length. Drink with a coquille St-Jacques or mahi-mahi with a jalapeno/fruit salsa.
HOP continues to prove they are the Baco-masters! The heat of the 2016 vintage has produced an elegant Baco with blackberry, raspberry, smoke, chocolate, anise and scorched earth. Medium to full body with splendid length and enough tannins to allow 5+ years of aging, if so desired, but it is ready to drink also.
Old gold in colour with a honeyed, waxy nose of peaches; medium-bodied, with a flavour of apricot jam balanced by lively acidity. Rich and full on the palate with great length.
This newly opened Toronto brewery is taking a page from the history books and producing great-quality classic beer styles like Munich Helles and Irish stout. Their porter pours a deep cocoa brown with tan head. On the sip, it’s dark chocolatey and roasty with a touch of vanilla, cherry nibs and whisp of smoke in the finish. This porter pairs well with smoked brisket, the roasted and smoky malt flavours in both the ale and the dish complement each other beautifully.
Dark brown colour. Dark caramel, molasses and toasted nuts on the nose. Surprisingly light after this "heavy" nose, its taste follows the same theme. It may seem a tad sweet but it is in fact completely dry. No bitterness in the soft finish.
Beautifully aromatic, with cherry, spice and savoury notes that continue on the palate, elegant, fresh and silky with excellent balance and focus, supple tannins and character-filled while maintaining approachability. The long, lifted finish and bright acidity make this an excellent and versatile wine to pair with numerous styles of cuisine. Grilled rabbit and duck are a natural match.
This wine delivers above its pay grade. Blackberry, plum, cherry, spice, chocolate and mint are layered on a concentrated mid-palate. It is rich, smooth and finishes with excellent fruit. Ready to drink.
