This wine attests to Mâcon as a great destination for those seeking delicious Burgundy at an affordable price. Medium body with fresh acid and delicate notes of mushrooms, lemon and butter. A great match for wild mushroom risotto.
Delightful aromas of red fruits, fresh herbs and earthy bark notes. Notice the transition from fruit-forward red berries to sweet black cherry on the mid-palate to long, spice-laden finish. Ten per cent carbonic maceration lifts and softens the fruit. Ready to go for chicken or pork roasts.
Opens with elegant floral scents, peachy stone fruit and a pinch of white pepper. Generous white peach and apricot flavours emerge on the palate supported by racy acidity and stony mineral, resolving into a long, satisfying stone fruit finish. Exemplary wine from Wagram’s acknowledged star producer.
Colaneri’s heavy hitter was made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that were dried for 60-plus days and then aged in new barrels for 27 months. Full bodied, certainly, it offers wall-to-wall cherries in every form: Bing, morello, kirsch and black. Add in plums, vanilla, spice, a concentrated mid-palate and excellent length, and you have one of Ontario’s most interesting wines. Drink it over the next 5 years.
Floral and exotic ripe fruit scents yield to surprisingly crisp green apple and citrus flavours delivered with supple rounded mouthfeel, refreshing mineral grip and lightly tart acidity. Good as an aperitif or will pair with a variety of seafood and white meat dishes.
This blend of 43% Sauvignon Blanc and equal parts of Gewürz and Riesling gains points for aromatics. Peach, flowers, bubble gum, citrus and honey are emulated on the palate. There is very good length and it is ready to go.
