January 2017 release. Elegant and rich with pure, pretty red-fruit flavours highlighted by spice, floral notes and hints of blood orange. Although the wine is quite graceful, there's ample structure and firm tannins with depth and complexity, finishing with loads of fresh minerality.
The Oktoberfest lager, or Märzen, was originally brewed in March and then lagered (a German word meaning “to store”) in cold caves until fall. Brewed with rich, toasty Munich malts, these “malt-bombs” are soft and creamy with a clean finish, thanks to the long aging times in cool temperatures. Beau’s Night Märzen is a soft and full toasty lager with hints of caramel and a floral, grassy hop finish.
Complex aromas feature game meat, woodsy forest, earthy spice and roast coffee. Their most robust edition to date, with rich blackcurrant, wild berries and meaty notes. Finishes with lingering liquorice and minerality. Needs another year or 2 to soften the muscular tannins.
Okay, the label might not make it past every conservative liquor board’s moral righteous screening panel, but personally I find that a touch of nudity is the proper ending to a nice bottle. And I’ll just stop there. Brewed from Nishiki rice polished to 70%, this is a blended sake that’s loaded with umami, cocoa, earth, mushroom and subtle fruit. Serve it chilled warmed and with/without nudity.
Hand harvested, fermented and aged in neutral French oak, unfined, unfiltered. More signs of good things to come, very pure fruit expression with lifted red berries, medium bodied palate with some earthy and forest floor hints and a definite mineral streak.
Dark ruby. Perfumed nose, generous notes of red fruits and vanilla oak. Supple, medium-bodied, less oaky than the nose suggests; fresh, fruity taste. Soft but tight tannins; overall quite pleasing right now, so don't wait too long.
Starts off with a nose of honey, spice, peach and lemon and then transitions into a mouthful of lime, apple, citrus and mineral. Medium sweet with solid acidity. Serve alongside medium spiced curries.
