This Peumo Carménère surprises in many ways, not the least of which with value for price. Earthy, green herbal notes, with blackcurrant, ripe black cherry and a salty, almost seaweed, flickering throughout. Green coffee, cedar boughs, cranberry, anise, bay leaf all contribute interesting complexity here, far beyond what I was expecting. Fresh, medium-bodied and drinkable now, especially with grilled meats over an open flame.
