Parlour Chair by CB2

Chairs can be more than just comfortable seating options. They can also bring a bit of colour into a space. This Atomic Orange Parlour Chair, exclusive from CB2, adds an eye-catching element to any room.

The Danish-style inspired design features barrel arms and a clean, tapered back that looks great anywhere and from all angles. You can tuck it into a reading nook, set it out in the middle of the room or squeeze it in among your existing living room set. One thing I really enjoyed about the look of this chair is the contrasting onyx legs. The dark, polished finish emphasizes the bright fabric.

The deep cushions are reversible and durable. The deep (32.5”), wide (31.25”) seat is pretty much made for tucking your feet underneath you and curling up with a good book while you rest against the high arms. Though, the sheer height of the arms can be inconvenient; it won’t fit a C-table and if you do have a coffee table beside it, there’s a lot more movement required to reach items on the tabletop. (If you’re a hardcore reader like me, you’ll know that that’s a pretty significant downside…)

Overall, the fabric is fairly durable. Under regular use, it will last quite some time. However, if you have a feline who loves turning your furniture into scratching posts, this is not the right option for you. Fabric threads will easily catch on a cat’s nails and shred.

If you’re not a fan of orange, you can also try one of their other stock colours – cyan or salt and pepper – or dip a bit deeper into your wallet for some of the special order colours they have available. CB2 will send you a fabric swatch for approval before your order is confirmed, so you won’t have to worry about having the chair arrive and not being the colour or texture you expect.
