The wine is equal parts Sonoma and Napa Valley grapes. Deep ruby in colour, it has a nose of vanilla oak and blackberries with a spicy note; it’s medium to full bodied with soft, sweet fruit, toasty oak and cocoa notes balanced by good acidity.
This opaque black wine has a purple rim. The combination of crème de cassis, raspberries, vanilla, dark chocolate, spice and hints of molasses flatter the senses. Full bodied, there is excellent length as well as firm yet ripe tannins. Drink it over the next 5 years.
This is the same concept as the Evolution, but made with the red grapes Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Syrah. It’s like Pinot Noir on steroids with juicy cherry and raspberry fruit, spice and earth on the nose. It’s bold and peppery on the palate with a bevy of dark and red fruits and a smooth finish. Serve with veal or burgers.
A blend of 46% Zinfandel, 31% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, possessing a wonderful approachability while still expressing the character of each of its component grapes. The Zinfandel really comes through in the aromas of blackberry and raspberry jam with hints of black cherries, currants and spice, while the Merlot provides a soft texture with flavours of plums and cherries, and the Cabernet Sauvignon contributes richness and an underlying structure. The tannins are quite soft, but despite the easy drinkability of this wine, it still maintains nice character and freshness. As with any good blend, the wine is a quite harmonious, well-knit sum of its individual parts. An excellent value.
Ruby-garnet. Intense blackberry and other black fruits on the moderately oaky nose. So ripe it tastes almost sweet even though it is dry. Full and concentrated, it remains supple with a rich texture and an intense finish.
Dark and delicious, with ripe, rich plum, blackberry and raspberry jam flavours that are deep and plush. Sharply focused, complex and concentrated, with spice and floral notes, but a touch high in alcohol.
From the cool Pacific-influenced Sonoma Coast AVA, comes this easy-drinking Merlot. A mixture of chocolate fudge, damson plum, sweet cherries and smoke is present. On the finale, a touch of barnyard makes an appearance. Drink it now.
