It’s not often I write, “Buy this wine by the case,” but this rosé will surprise you for its price and quality. A blend of Grenache with Viognier, it’s pale pink in colour with a bouquet of pomegranate and red flowers; medium-bodied and dry, flavours of raspberry and citrus fruits fill the palate. A beautifully balanced and elegant rosé.
From one of SA’s best Chardonnay producers comes this lovely rendition. Medium plus body with cream, baked apple, pineapple, spice, vanilla and honey. Long lasting, with apple being the dominant echo.
Yellow straw colour, showing brightly scented lemon citrus with subtle buttery and vanilla notes. Citrus and green apple flavours are backed by refreshing acidity and a lick of mineral on the medium weight palate. Well-made, affordable wine that will serve equally well as an aperitif or to pair with seafood and white meat dishes.

The Paarl Roodeberg label, it seems, has been around forever. The wine, though, has significantly evolved to suit modern tastes. Gone is the sooty smelling style of yesterday, replaced by a wine showing clean, fresh berry fruit on the nose and lively red and dark fruit, leavened with a deft touch of oak on the palate. Chenin was sourced from Agter-Paarl, Durbanville and Bottelary Hills for this tribute series wine, named for the winery's founder. The dry 2016 vintage concentrated fruit and flavours in this granitic-soiled, old bush vine (averaging 45 years) white, already low yielding and ripe fruited. Whole bunch pressed, this spent 1 year in French wood (half new) with regular batônnage. Heady white peach, lush pear, fynbos honeysuckle is seasoned with big wood spicing and based by a creamy, rich palate. Chenin's hallmark acidity helps keeps this big wine taut and will aid its time in the cellar
