Gorgeous effusive and alluring nose filled with roses followed by elegant, firm and intense flavours of currants, leather and mineral notes, wonderful concentration, velvety mineral-laden tannins and a long, flavourful finish. Great match with mountain cheeses and braised meats. A great example of how a wine can be outstanding without being heavy.
Made from traditional Veneto grapes with 30% of the fruit air-dried, Amarone-style. The nose shows rich, mature dark fruits, ground coffee, saddle leather and sweet spice notes. It’s a very young wine in the mouth that deserves time in the cellar to fully integrate all the interesting parts, from the intense fruit flavours to the toasty vanilla and sweet oak nuances. Try with grilled game meat, especially bison burgers.
This one has lively, enticingly ripe dark berry and plum scents with a pinch of spice and a whiff of vanilla. In the mouth, fleshy ripe berry flavours contrast with black cherry bitterness, light tannic grip and earthy overtones. Not overly complex, but a great match for pizza or tomato based pastas.
Ruby/purplish. Typical Sangiovese nose with an extra dose of small red fruits. Subdued spicy oak. Medium body, tight core of fruit extract and finely grained tannins. Firmness in the nice, moderately long finish. Ready to drink and perfect with tomato-flavoured Italian meat or pasta.
An old-style Syrah with aromas of blackcurrants, cassis, smoke, roasted meats, liquorice and pepper. It’s rich and layered on the palate with smoky blueberry and currants, cracked black pepper, firm tannins and lavish spices. Serve with comfort foods such as boeuf bourguignon, brisket, and hard cheeses.
Polished, newer style Ripasso showing less typical raisiny dried fruit, but more refined pure black cherry intensity. Smoothly textured, harmoniously integrated and well balanced throughout with a dusting of fine spice on the finish.
Deep ruby. It is complex, with black fruits and liquorice. Oak is well integrated. Very full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel, yet firm and tight. Intense, warm long finish. Overall well balanced. 70% Cab Sauv plus Cab Franc.
