This wine continues to be one of Greece’s greatest red wine values — period! Medium-bodied and linear, there is a profile of cherry, plum, tar, herbs, tomato paste, vanilla and dried earth. Great length and some gritty tannins make for an ideal pairing with a braised lamb shank or a medium rare NY Strip! Buy it by the case and enjoy until 2022.
A straightforward, unpretentious Greek white with flavours of peach, citrus, white flowers and mineral notes. Refreshing, there is very good length. Chill and serve on the patio this summer.
For sweet wine lovers. Deep ruby-purple colour with a mature rim; cedary, plum bouquet; full-bodied, sweet plum jam flavour with spicy oak notes and balancing acidity. Great value.
From Greece wine royalty, Boutari has been making wine for more than 130 years, and rule the market both locally and internationally. This is 100% Moschofilero from Mantinia's hillside vineyards, fresh at 650 m. 3 months in stainless before bottling is meant to keep the crisp, bright fruit: green and yellow apples, lemon, grass, white blossom and cantaloupe, perfumed with a ginger haze on a clipped finish. Clean and compact, lean and bright, and perfect with simple clams.
Strofilia Estate was started by 2 friends in 1984. This is the latest project in their portfolio, “Syn+”, the result of the next generation experimenting with their family’s accomplished practices. This Agiorgitiko is from mountainous vineyards in Asprokambos and Psari in Nemea. Deep clay soils, whole cluster and 2 weeks on the skins, this spent 6 months in tank before bottling. Downy plum, blackcurrant, cassis, wild cherry on the soft, generous and friendly palate, one with fine powdery, fuzzy tannins hugging the edges to a warming finish. A fine, potent line of acidity plumbs the whole. Rustic and charming; crack and chill and serve with pork. Good value.
Made from 100% Agiorgitiko, this wine exudes damson plum, cherry liqueur, chocolate, brown sugar, tobacco and baking spice. Tannins are present but unobtrusive, and the flavour carries. Roast pork all the way.
This baby overdelivers for the price and multiple bottle purchase is mandated! Haunting aromas of dried fruit, potpourri, herbs and elevated tannins are all present. If you are a Nebbiolo lover, this wine is right in your wheelhouse! Barbecue fare all the way.
