Chilean Syrah has improved so much over the last 5 years. This example is dense purple-black in colour which speaks to the level of ripeness and the extraction. The spicy, herbal nose of savoury black fruits is nicely contrasted with the sweet blackcurrant and plum flavours carried on lively acidity. Good value.
Bright and fresh with aromas and flavours of cherry, strawberry, currants and citrus, silky, elegant and balanced with a firm underlying structure and vibrant, dry, but fruit-driven finish. We all need to drink more rosé, and this wine is versatile enough to pair with just about anything and very pleasing to drink on its own. Emiliana’s Adobe wines are all sustainably produced with organically grown grapes.
An intriguing oak-aged blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot and Cabernet Franc offering dark berry, blackcurrant, minty herbal and spicy scents with well-integrated dark fruit flavours, good weight and structure and lingering fruit, spice and dark chocolate on the finish.
Chile is making some very nice (and affordable) Sauvignon Blancs with freshness and packed with flavour. The nose shows guava, tropical fruit, fresh-cut grass and white flowers. It’s crisp and refreshing on the palate with grapefruit and tropical fruit flavours.
A lushly rich Carménère with plenty of ripe berry fruit and spice on the nose. Thickly textured, with rounded velvety tannins, it finishes with an opulent combination of fruit, chocolate, spice and subtle oak.
Light lemon-yellow. Aggressive, even pungent nose of gooseberry and kiwi fruit. Surprisingly full-bodied, it has rich lemony flavours with an accent of grapefruit and dry minerality on the finish. Extreme value. Drink right away.
Pale yellow. Nose of McIntosh apple, gooseberries, celery, a hint of sulphur. On the palate it is medium-bodied and brightly acidic, tasting of citrus and green apple. The “greenness” of the flavours make it a good match for herbed foods such as roast chicken.
