30-year-old estate vines from Luigi Bosca. A very approachable but gently polished Cab Sauv. Medium-bodied with a touch of smokiness, easy tannins and juicy acidity.
Good value Cabernet, with red and black berry and tea notes up front. Good varietal character, with hints of cassis and vanilla, well managed oak, well integrated tannins and a solid finish.
A pleasant surprise and new discovery. From high elevation estate vineyards over 1000 m. Forward black fruit with spicy hints before a plush and plummy mouth-filling palate with a distinct, savoury streak. Excellent value.
Deep ruby-purple in colour with a cedary, plum and blackcurrant bouquet lifted with notes of vanilla oak; medium-bodied, dry, beautifully balanced and firmly structured, with a lovely floral note on the end taste.
Argentina is not all Malbec but this Cabernet does have 15% Malbec in the blend. You might think $24.95 expensive for an Argentinian wine - of course you do - but this one is well worth picking up. Dense purple in colour; it has a lovely cedary, tobacco and plum bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, it's dry and fruity, well-structured and firm with ripe black fruit flavours and balancing acidity.
This wine shows what Argentina can do when it comes to producing an icon wine. Dene purple-black in colour with a cedary, savoury plum nose lifted with vanilla oak notes; full-bodied, dry, earthy black plum flavour with balancing acidity and a firm tannic finish. Needs 3 – 4 years to show its paces.
Opening with scents of ripe red berries, red currant and a whiff of eucalyptus, with berry, currant and peppery spice flavours playing through in the mouth, this zesty, intriguing, terroir-driven wine is harmoniously balanced, culminating with a long agreeably tannic finish.
