Niagara Cook Wins!

Niagara Cooks, from Farm to Table cookbook by Niagara’s Food and Wine Writer Lynn Ogryzlo and Food Photographer, Jon Ogryzlo won BEST LOCAL FOOD COOKBOOK IN CANADA (English) at the GOURMAND WORLD COOKBOOK AWARDS 2008 in Madrid, Spain.

Niagara Cooks now qualifies to represent Canada in the GOURMAND BEST IN THE WORLD competition at the Gala Dinner scheduled for May 2009 at an undisclosed location. In the past the Gourmand Gala has been held at Chateau deBrissac in the Loire Valley, at the Olympia Theatre in London, England, Barcelona, Spain, and Orebro-Grythyttan, Sweden.

Niagara Cooks includes a story of a grower with each of the 89
recipes featuring local food that connects consumers to the people who
grow our food. The beautiful, full colour cookbook serves as an
ambassador of Niagara agriculture with magnificent, glossy photo’s of
each recipe and of Niagara’s agricultural landscape and each recipe is
paired with a local Niagara wine.
