Get Around This Summer

Over the years, I’ve been to a number of different events held at various wineries. Everything from jazz festivals to grand openings and general tours, I’ve found that, although prices can sometimes be steep for the events or the amenities, the events are generally a lot of fun.

In the spirit of good food, friends and travel, I want to pass on this information I received from the Jackson-Triggs winery. This year the Jackson-Triggs’ Amphitheatre is celebrating its 10 Season of the “Twilight in the Vineyard” Concert Series. There are a lot of wineries around the country that do this sort of thing, and I encourage you to seek them out. The festivals I’ve attended at wineries were always worth the time, cost and effort to get there. There’s something so decadent about being surrounded by a beautiful landscape, listening to great music and partaking of delicious food and wine!

The Jackson-Triggs event is running all summer long and will be featuring a number of well-known musicians, such as Tom Cochrane with Andrew Cole, The Canadian Tenors, Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida. Something that became popular a few years ago is the dinner in the vineyard event. A lot of wineries actually set out long tables in the middle of their vineyards at which visitors can relax and enjoy the best from the kitchen. Check out the Culinary Workshops, too. I know Mission Hill Winery offers a really interesting one.
