Tidings300 Signature Cutty Sark Cocktail

By / Food / December 5th, 2011 / Like

As you all no doubt realize by now, December marks Tidings Magazine‘s 300 issue. That’s 38 in human years. That’s also quite the accomplishment. Times are always difficult in the publishing industry, but the last few years have probably been among the worst ever. Sales of books and magazines sank to new lows. The recession factored into the demise of a few of the greats — Metropolitan Home, Gourmet, National Geographic Adventure, to name but a few.

So, we here at Tidings have lots to celebrate. And so do you. You, dear readership, have made Tidings what it is. You wanted great pics, and you wanted great stories. You got it.

As a thank-you we offer you a recipe for a great new signature cocktail invented by whisky makers, Cutty Sark, especially for Tidings Magazine‘s 300th.

Cutty Sark Mapled Whisky Sour

2 shots Cutty Sark Blended Scotch Whisky
1 shot fresh lemon juice
1/3 shot pure Canadian maple syrup
3 dashes Angostura bitters

Shake all ingredients with cubed ice, strain over fresh cubed ice in a short glass. Garnish with lemon zest.
