Taste Canada (Les Lauréats des Saveurs du Canada) held their 2016 Awards Gala on November 14th, 2016 at the Arcadian Court in Toronto.

Hosted by Mary Ito, CBC radio personality and former host of Fresh Air, the Gala recognized 22 of Canada’s world-class culinary writers. These writers were picked from 148 submissions (96 books and 52 food blogs) as the best of the best published in Canada for 2016.

Gala guests were treated to a gastronomic event complete with red carpet and over a dozen food stations hosted by Toronto’s most celebrated chefs.

Taste Canada has spent the last 19 years recognizing Canada’s outstanding culinary writers. The organization strives to be the authoritative culinary writing award by showcasing and recognizing the best. Every year, they promote Canadian-authored culinary narratives, cookbooks spanning a variety of genres and topics, and food blogs.

Submissions for the 2017 Taste Canada Awards will be accepted from January 25, 2017 until February 22, 2017.
