Quick and Easy Recipes

Whether or not you enjoy spending time in the kitchen cooking gourmet wonders, everyone needs a few quick and easy recipes on hand for those evenings when preparing a complex meal just seems too much. Even dinner parties don’t have to be time stealers. Many quick and easy recipes can be delicious and impressive enough to serve even the most finicky of guests. Recipes that come together quickly are typically composed of ingredients most of us already have on hand in the pantry, fridge or freezer. Make good use of those canned products, spices and frozen vegetables by tossing them together to form a new creation. You would be amazed at how wonderful canned tuna can be when it’s combined with a handful of ingredients and fried or baked into crunchy patties.

The recipes below can be made very quickly with a minimum of skill. Start by rubbing a whole chicken with salt, pepper and some of your favourite herbs or spices. Fill the cavity with slices of citrus and fresh or dried herbs, then place the whole bird in the oven for an hour or so for a delicious and effortless main course. While the chicken is roasting, you can quickly stir together a side of Corn Fritters and a lovely dessert of Baked Pears with Anise Seed (recipes follow). In about an hour, and with minimal effort and money, you can sit down to a gourmet feast that will warm your body and your soul.
