Jura Ena Micro 9 One Touch Cappucino Machine

Jura claims this is the world’s smallest one-touch automatic cappuccino machine, making it an ideal option for #smallspaces. It’s not cheap – retailing for about $1400 US – but it does make good on its promise of being compact and truly simple to operate. As with any product, it comes with its own list of pros and cons.

PROS

Can brew a wide range of specialty coffees – cappuccino, latte macchiato, café crème, espresso, hot water

Simple to use – press and enjoy; easy to read display

Coffee bean container has a preservation seal to keep beans fresh

Coffee strength can be adjusted to 2 levels

Produces a dense, creamy foam, even with a low fat or soy milk

Can quickly and efficiently produce several coffees, back-to-back – great for dinner parties

Easy to clean – system prompts user to rinse (integrated rinse, cleaning and descaling program); separate coffee and milk pipes

CONS

Cost – not only is the unit a little pricey, so are the filters, descaling tablets and cleaning tablets recommended to keep your machine in top order

Doesn’t deliver a piping hot cup of coffee

Bean grinder has been known to malfunction when using “oily” beans

Single spout as opposed to a dual spout

A standard size travel mug doesn’t fit under the spout

Unit does not include a milk tumbler – not a huge deal but expected for the price

Unit constantly prompts user to run rinse cycle
