New Year’s Eve Table Personalities

A New Year’s Eve table sets the tone for the entire evening. These table ideas may just inspire you to find the decor that complements your party perfectly.

Au Natural

There’s nothing more beautiful than nature – no hiding behind a mask made of faux colours and chemically produced materials. This table is about birch-wrapped vases and candle holders with pinecone napkin holders. The flora? Twigs and pieces of evergreen. White, pale yellow and cream are the colours to complement nature’s beauty.

A bit of Rouge

Catch the eye with sultry red carnations and bold red napkins. Placed on an all white or all black canvas, the colour combination is reminiscent of the sexy red dress.

Eco-conscious

Use leftover wrapping paper as a table runner, hang your Christmas tree lights over the table for ambience. Wrap your napkins with tinsel and put gold or silver ornaments in champagne flutes as your center piece. The trick, of course, is to find all of these items in the same colour scheme – I suggest gold and silver.

Can I get a Favour?

Your table won’t be the one asking that this year. It’ll be the one giving favours. Festive party hats and noise makers make great tabletop decor, and they can be used later in the evening to celebrate. Don’t forget the mints so everyone has fresh breath when the big kiss comes around!

Fun and Flirty

This suggestion may require some cleaning the next morning, but it’ll be worth it. Put a bag of confetti on each plate, with a hand written note to the guest. It can be generic “Save these for Midnight” or geared to the person. Spread some on the table cloth to let your guests know it’s ok if it gets everywhere.
