Lunch Hour Blues
Is the lunch hour a thing of the past?
Do you take a lunch break every day? Apparently, 72% of Canadians take 45 minutes or less. I know I tend to work through lunch. For better or worse, I like the idea of taking that extra time off at the end of the day instead of in the middle (although that rarely happens). Angus Reid conducted the study for ConAgra Foods. They found that 18% of people skip lunch completely.
So, if you don’t take time for lunch, why not? Is it because you’re not keen on soup, sandwiches and salads? A friend of mine has turned preparing gourmet lunches for himself into an olympic sport. He spends several hours on the weekend cooking up three or four recipes that will keep him fed all week. Or maybe your work demands too much of your time?
