Easy, Healthy Meals

By / Food / January 4th, 2011 / 2

Tired of turkey, goose, ham, veal, seafood or any of the other traditional foods that appear in abundance at this time of year? Maybe you’re thinking that it’s time to get back to some normal eating habits before all those extra calories begin to stick to all the wrong places. Eating special menus at Christmas and enjoying cocktails and tapas for New Year’s Eve is a lot of fun, especially if you like experimenting with different flavours or just savouring food that is only made once a year. But, eventually, we all have to come back to reality. Whether it’s to shed the pounds we somehow managed to pack on during the festivities or simply to return to a healthy diet, I’ve put together a couple of recipes that will start you off on the right foot.

Both of these recipes are quick to prepare, perfect for busy weeknights. Full of flavour, you’ll also love how healthful they are. That, of course, is the key to maintaining a healthy weight over the long term. Meals that are varied and tasty will go a long way in making healthful cooking fun and inspiring.

Many of the ingredients in each of these recipes can be purchased pre-sliced or pre-cooked cutting your kitchen time in half. The faster you can get healthful food on the table, the less likely you’ll be to snack on the not-so-healthful stuff.
