The Dreampad

Living optimally requires sleeping optimally – something many of us struggle with. Anxiety, highly stressed days or even a partner’s snoring can interfere with getting a restorative sleep. Often, we turn to music or soothing sounds to help melt our day away, but what if we could take that relaxation factor one step further? The Dreampad was designed to do just that. The pillow-like pad delivers music through calming vibrations – music or sounds only you can hear.

How it Works

The human body has a natural conductive quality – essentially, our bones are natural conductors. Have you ever wondered why your voice sounds differently when played back on a recording device? It’s because you are only hearing the sound carried by air to your outer ear. Every time we speak, the vibration of your voice is carried by bone to your inner ear. The Dreampad converts the properties of sound to vibration, allowing the user to experience music without any sound being carried by air.

The Dreampad connects to your mobile device (Android and iOS compatible) and can be used with music of your choice or a collection of music (included) emphasizing frequencies of the auditory spectrum most conducive for relaxation and sleep. All programs have a default play setting of two hours but can be adjusted to a shorter or longer time period. The thin, pad-like pillow can be inserted in your pillowcase for use with your own pillow.

The Benefits

Not only does the Intrasound Technology allow your partner to sleep undisturbed (without the use of earphones), the delivery of music through vibration stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, thus facilitating our relaxation response. In fact, the technology is being used in several studies, including those related to stress-induced insomnia, trauma, veterans with PTSD, children with ADHD and ASD, and cancer patients experiencing insomnia.

Retailing at approximately $180, the Dreampad isn’t inexpensive but if you suffer from chronic sleep issues, the investment may be well worth it.
