A Cocktail Fit For Royalty
Happy Canada Day!
What would Canada Day be without cool cocktails, barbecues and festivities? This year, a royal visit puts this celebratory day over the top. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made Canada their first stop on their official inaugural tour. The Royal Caesar, a quintessentially Canadian cocktail, was created by Len Fragomeni, Dean of Mott’s Clamato Caesar and features classic English sprits — gin and Pimm’s. The cocktail comes together in no time, and is best served in a Champagne glass.
The Royal Caesar
1 oz gin
1 oz Pimm’s
2 dashes Angostura bitters
3 dashes freshly ground salt and pepper
4 cucumber sticks (skinned, 4″ long)
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
4 oz Mott’s Clamato Original cocktail
Muddle cucumber, Pimm’s, gin, bitters, Worcestershire and salt and pepper together in a mixing glass. Add ice and Mott’s Clamato Original cocktail. Stir well and strain into fresh ice. Pour into a Champagne glass rimmed with freshly ground salt. Garnish with a cucumber crown.
