Oh Give Me a Home, where Organic Vodka Roams…

Made from certified organic #2 yellow corn and certified kosher, Prairie Organic Vodka is now (or very soon will be) available in select Canadian markets. Made by Phillips Distilling Company – a fifth-generation, family-owned distiller out of Minnesota – the vodka is positioned to go head-to-head with its luxury grain and potato counterparts. Prairie is the result of a unique partnership between the distiller and over 900 Minnesota farmers who all have a stake in the brand.

“This brand symbolizes a meaningful departure from the business practices of yesterday,” says Dean Phillips, president and CEO of Phillips Distilling Company; “from the sharing of success with farmers to converting leftover corncobs to biogas for powering the stills, we are proud to be charting new territory.”

While a corn-based vodka may cause purists to raise an eyebrow, the quality should bring it level again. Falling somewhere between the oily, viscous potato-based numbers and the brisk, somewhat stinging grain-distilled styles, Prairie has a hint of vanilla and pear on the nose, a creamy, mild spicy palate and a crisp but smooth finish. Prairie should now be available across Canada and will set you back about $35.00.
