Pérez Cruz Quelen

By / Wine + Drinks / December 11th, 2009 / 2

This blend of lesser-used Bordeaux varieties Petit Verdot (44%), Carmenère (29%) and Cot (aka Malbec, 26%) hails from mountain slopes (“quelen”). Unveils spicy tobacco and red/black-fruit aromas, then sweet blackberry/cassis flavours, with lingering minerality. Rich texture and powerful, velvety tannins impress. Calls for lamb.
