Mission Hill’s High End

By / Wine + Drinks / January 28th, 2015 / 2

I don’t think any winery in Canada needs less of an introduction than Mission Hill. Its iconic bell tower, that overlooks the Okanagan Valley, is a monument to a truly Canadian success story.

Founded in 1966 in Kelowna, British Columbia this winery has made a global name for itself and it is due in part for wines like the ones that make up their Legacy Collection:

Mission Hill 2010 Oculus ($80.95)

51% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc

This always Merlot dominated blend is full of chocolate and black cherry with elements of spice backing it up.

Mission Hill 2010 Quatrain ($60.00)

40% Merlot, 20% each Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc

Twelve months in brand new French oak has given this wine a beautiful blueberry, cocoa and vanilla beginning backed by black cherry and a touch of playful spice.

Mission Hill 2010 Compendium ($60.00)

41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc

A two vineyard blend from the Southern Okanagan shows sweet black cherry, vanilla, cocoa and smoke; the best part is that silky smooth mouthfeel.
