#FridayCocktail – Wedding Bells

By / Wine + Drinks / April 11th, 2014 / 2

My little brother – the only boy and the last to settle down – will be married in September. He and his wonderful bride-to-be are throwing one heck of a reception that will include two signature cocktails. Her cocktail is a twist on the classic cosmopolitan – a true representation of who she is. Urban, stylish and a beautiful bride!

Ingredients

½ cup of WHITE cranberry juice

2 ounces of premium vodka

1 ounce of Cointreau

½ a fresh lime

White Dianthus* bloom (for garnish)

Preparation

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add cranberry juice, vodka, Cointreau and the juice from the fresh lime.

Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Float a single Dianthus bloom in the glass.

*Hydrangeas will be front and centre at the wedding. We did discover, however, that the bloom is toxic so we swapped it out for a Dianthus bloom, a completely edible flower that tastes much like it smells – sweet.
