#FridayCocktail: Cider and Cinnamon

By / Wine + Drinks / October 4th, 2013 / 1

It’s official, autumn has arrived. Before we pack up our patio furniture in preparation for the snowy days ahead, let us enjoy a few more – albeit cooler – outdoor evening drinks. Savour these last deck days with a warm after-dinner cocktail with friends, hopefully by a roaring fire. Pair with a s’more (or two) for a truly indulgent fall treat!

Ingredients

1 ¼ ounce of spiced rum

6 ounces hot apple cider

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 tablespoon of cinnamon

Preparation

Mix sugar and cinnamon on a flat plate.

Rim a mug (preferably a clear glass mug) with the sugar/cinnamon mixture, using some of the warm apple cider to adhere the mixture to the rim.

Add spiced rum and cider, stir and serve.

This is my new official holiday drink! I normally like cider and I absolutely love spiced rum, so the combination of the two will do very well for my holiday spirits. Thanks for the recipe.
