spring cocktails

With all the bars and restaurants near you closed, this is the perfect time to play around in order to improve your bartending skills. Warmer weather is coming (even if it may not feel like it for some of us), and these spring cocktails are a perfect pick-me-up to celebrate the happier days ahead.

Orangesicle

If there’s anything that just screams warm weather, it’s a popsicle. You’re in luck, because this cocktail from our very own collection is basically a more grown-up version of a popsicle.

1.5 oz Bacardi ® Orange Rum
1.5 oz Cream
0.5 oz Orange Juice

All you need to do is blend these ingredients together and rim your glass of choice with powdered sugar and there you have it, a drinkable orange creamsicle that will bring some warmth and happiness to your day.

The Abba

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been feeling the need for a little pick-me-up in these uncertain times. Personally, I think the best way to do that is to throw a little zest into your life. This spring cocktail (also from our repertoire) is incredibly easy to whip up and has just the right amount of lime to bring the light and airy feely of spring into your home. You probably already have the ingredients lying around your house.

4 oz Absolut Citron
2.5 oz Sprite
Twist of lime peel
Ice cubes

Just combine the ingredients together and voilà. This might just be your new favourite quarantine cocktail.

BerryRay

If you’re more of a fruity cocktail person then this might be the best option for you. But be warned, this spring cocktail packs quite a punch in the best possible way. The BerryRay will definitely make any virtual happy hours quite happy indeed. Despite the numerous kinds of alcohol mixed into this cocktail, I found it to be surprisingly fruity and light, perfect for spring. I’m usually not one for drinks that are heavy on alcohol, but I assure you the juices made this a cocktail even my meek stomach can handle. Time to raid your liquor cabinet and find all of these alcohols that I know you have.

1 oz Vodka
1 oz Rum
1 oz Gin
1 oz Triple Sec
1.5 oz Strawberry schnapps
1.5 oz Cranberry juice
2 oz Orange juice

Pour all ingredients (except strawberry schnapps) into a beer mug. Stir gentle and fill almost with ice. Add strawberry schnapps, and garnish with a strawberry or cherry.

Catalina Cocktail

Last but definitely not least, this spring cocktail recipe is hands down my favourite one. It’s so simple and refreshing that I could drink them all day and night (and maybe I will). It has a fresh taste to it that I find to be the perfect drink to sit on the balcony and enjoy at the end of the day without having to work too hard to make it. Here’s the small list of ingredients.

2 oz Vodka
3 oz Club soda
1 Splash cranberry juice
1 Slice lime

This cocktail isn’t as strong as some of the others I’ve mentioned, making it perfect for those of you who are looking for a lighter beverage of choice.
